BACKGROUND
ñusta Ispanan and Sun Temple of Chuquipalta, White Rock, Yurak Rumi. Nusta Ispanan: "place where the princess urinates." The custom is still practiced. Bingham, Adams

The site matches Calancha's description. Lee. Also studied by Angles Vargas, Krickeberg 1949. Guchte

Priests threw kisses to the rising sun at this location. Water only reflects the rock not the sky, rather forbidding. Bingham

Group 14. Buildings were torn down. Spring under White Rock meets with another spring and joins Rio de los Andenes. Several carved boulders and many fountains and a shrine. Lee

1570. Burned by Fr Marcos and Fr Diego. Fr Calancha, Bingham
After being mocked and tempted in Vilcabamba they returned to Puquiura and led a group to burn and exorcise Yurakrumi. Garcia was kicked out of Vilcabamba, Ortiz was soon forgiven. Hemming

1911 Aug 9. Bingham found it.

Platform with carved crack said to have been made by a princess. Very mossy. Bingham. Small channels for blood sacrifices. Adams

3. YURAK RUMI - E SIDE / KNOBS
10 projecting stones like intihuatana. In line are 7 - one a part from the others. Other 3 are in "trinangular position".

All are in the NE, exposed to rising sun creating great shadows. The knobs project out 8in.

4. YURAK RUMI - S SIDE / POOL
Platform over the water. Spring is actually slightly above the pool and runs down into it. Stone boulders of pool are actually 7 or 8 stone seats - some under shadow of stone. Bingham

Has a hole drilled into it. Someone tried to dynamite it, but failed. It shot out like a rocket. Adams
